Registration is open for CCE's Spring Break Project! The Spring Break Project, offered by CCE's Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp, is designed for students ages 12-15 who have a strong interest in environmental science or ecology and a passion for conservation and management.
The program will run from April 9th at 2:00 pm to April 13th at 7:30 pm and take place at Dorothy P Flint 4-H Camp in Riverhead. The Spring Break Project is an ecology-based research program that offers students the tools, guidance and encouragement to investigate their own questions about the outdoors.
Students will spend time each day in small groups actively engaged in designing and completing their research projects. In the afternoons and evenings students will have the opportunity to do a variety of activities such as a rope course, art projects, geo caching events and sports. The goal of the Spring Break Project is to provide students with an enriching environment where they can master the skills required to perform ecological research and develop the knowledge to debate local environmental issues. Students will gain teamwork skills as they progress within their groups toward a common goal.
