 The Nursery & Landscape Program at CCE Suffolk is here to help you!  If you are a nursery grower, landscaper, arborist, landscape architect or other professional in the horticulture industry, you can rely on the Nursery & Landscape Program for valuable information and exciting programs!  

 

The Nursery & Landscape Program:
  • provides individual consultations for professionals on horticulture topics ranging from plant selection to pruning techniques, and everything in between!
  • develops outreach publications such as the Horticulture Resource Guide
  • coordinates regional conferences and educational programs such as the Long Island Horticulture Conference
  • presents on various horticulture topics at local industry meetings and educational events 
  • conducts on-site horticulture trials and demonstration projects

March 31st: 2010 Pest Forecast - A Teleconference for Nursery Growers

We invite you to join us for this evening program which will highlight insects and diseases of woody ornamentals that are of concern for the upcoming growing season.  Cooperative Extension's own Dan Gilrein will be with us to discuss insect problems.  The we will be able to "telecom-in" Cornell Uinversity's George Hudler on the big screen.  Get a head start this growing season and please join us!  For program and to register, CLICK HERE

 

July 9th: Sensational Shrubs - An Educational Event for Landscape Architects

8:30am - Cornell Cooperative Extension Building, 423 Griffing Ave., 1st floor meeting room, Riverhead, NY    

Our 2nd annual educational event for registered LAs will feature uses and design principles of shrubs in the landscape.  3 morning lectures will be followed by a catered lunch.  Visits to two local North Fork nurseries in the afternoon, will provide hands-on learning and networking opportunities.  5 Landscape Architecture continuing education credit hours will be provided.  PROGRAM AND REGISTRATION BROCHURE COMING SOON!
