In July 2017, the food pantry at Springs Presbyterian Church received and displayed their new "nutrition pantry cards". These cards were created with the PSE goal in mind that participants will receive nutritional information such as key nutrient sources and food groups while choosing a variety of pantry foods. The staff will also guide participants towards healthier food choices and food preferences - such as brown rice for fiber or beans for protein, fiber & iron.
Participants sampled watermelon, feta and chocolate mint salad and tomato basil & corn salad, as part of the food demos done by ESNY program.
