Winter days for pre-schoolers at Cornell Cooperative Extension's Suffolk County Farm are full of unique choices! Each age-appropriate session has been designed to accentuate the child/parent learning experience. Participants will learn new ways of positive interaction in a safe and sociable environment. Children and adults alike will enjoy meeting new people, and making new friends! Programs are offered on different days and for different ages, so there's something to meet everyone's interests. Pre-registration required.

Class Descriptions

Join us for an hour of age specific fun on the farm. There'll be a story, craft and a wagon trip to visit the animals. Each week is a new theme. Please check the registration form for our age specific schedule.

Thursday
10:30-11:30 or 1:00-2:00
Children aged 2-5 and their siblings
Parents with a pre-schooler and an infant we have classes scheduled just for you! You may register your child aged 2 years or older and their sibling for either Thursday morning or afternoon classes.

Friday
10:30-11:30 Children aged 3-5, come and explore our Nature Explore Classroom.
These programs will focus on a different area of our Nature Explore Classroom each week. If the weather is not cooperating nature can be brought inside. There will also be time for a wagon ride and visit with the animals.

Program Information

• Classes are held in the Horticulture Center.
• Each visit to the Farm is a unique experience for both children and adults. So that you may get the most out of this experience, please remember to dress comfortably and for the weather.
• Classes are designed to be age specific, please check registration form to see which age group best fits your child.
• Please note that SIBLINGS can only be accommodated where specified.
• We reserve the right to apply fee to future programming if we are forced to cancel any programming due to inclement weather.
• Please use Early Childhood Registration sheet on next page.
• Due to space restrictions and safety regulations, strollers may not be brought on the wagon.
• We try to accommodate everyone's busy schedule. If you cannot find a class that fits your schedule, please call and we will do our best to find a class that works for you.
