Hands-on exploration of the biology and inner workings of one of the ocean's top predators, SHARKS!
Join us for a hands-on investigation of the most misunderstood predator - sharks! Dive into an in-depth experience of the anatomy and biology of sharks as well as other fish species. With the guidance of CCE Marine Program educator, Hazel Wodehouse, participants will work in teams to learn dissection techniques and make first-hand comparisons between the anatomy of sharks and bony fish. You will also touch and view under a microscope, various animal artifacts like fish scales, shark skin, teeth and jaws while learning about the threats these top ocean predators face!
This program is for ages 6+ that are interested and want to observe and participate in actual animal dissections. Children under 6 are welcome if accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Please don't register yourself or your child if you aren't willing to participate in the dissections.
Participants should wear clothing that can get messy. Closed-toed shoes are required.
Program fee: $25
