Aquatic Investigators

Get ready to kick up the aquatic biology fun a few notches!

Whether your child is passionate about marine biology or just loves Long Island’s great outdoors, this course is a great introduction. This week is designed to immerse our older campers deep into the world of aquatic science through hands-on learning experiences! The program will introduce campers to sampling and research techniques used by biologists, survey skills, and marsh sampling for aquatic invertebrates and plankton.

This week will also lead campers through an exciting fishing expedition aboard Captree’s Yankee III Fishing Vessel! Campers will learn all they need to know about fishing, boat safety, local fish biology and conservation! The Captain will lead us through an exciting bottom dredge where campers will investigate other local marine invertebrates!
