Marine Mammal Week

Whales, Seals, and Dolphins... Oh My! Join us for an adventurous week exploring Long Island's marine habitats while concentrating on Marine Mammals! Our marine instructors will guide your child through interactive, hands-on learning experiences designed to be educational and fun. Each day will consist of a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. We have classroom time for educational programs/marine topic of the day in the morning, touch tanks, and arts & crafts projects in the afternoon. Campers also study animals and seine in our salt marsh, as well as participate in beach activities at the Town of Babylon's Cedar Beach, a certified, lifeguard-supervised beach area.

On a Thursday, July 29, 2021, we will set out on a field expedition to see some live marine mammals at the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium in Riverhead. Your child will have the opportunity to see seal lions, river otters, and seals up close and personal! We will also experience a Behind-the-scenes tour with Riverhead Foundation to see what seals are in the hospital for rehabilitation! We will leave from and return to the Sport Fishing Education Center, Babylon and Sea Explorers Marine Camp will provide the busing to and from Atlantis Marine World. For this one day, camp will run from 9-3pm to allow for a little extra time at the Aquarium.
