Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour at our state of the art shellfish hatchery at SCMELC (Suffolk County Marine Environmental Learning Center) in Southold.

Tour will be led by aquaculture and algae specialist and hatchery manager, Joshua Perry. Guests will get a close-up look at how we raise clams, scallops, and oysters from algae production, to shellfish spawning, to deployment in natural waters. Our aquaculture initiatives help to repopulate local bays with these important filter-feeders, keeping algae populations in check and providing an important link in the local food web.
