NAP SACC Success Story: The Learning Experience

As part of the NAP SACC program, the Learning Experience embarked on a parent education campaign to increase the amounts of fruits and vegetables being brought in from home. This campaign resulted in “Fruity Friday”. Parents are asked to bring a fruit in each week and put it in the basket. On Fridays, the fruit is cut up into a fruit salad and eaten ask a snack.“Fruity Friday” was so well received that “Veggie Tuesday” soon followed.

Additionally, the Learning Experience created both a written media policy and a written nutrition policy that they did not previously have. These policies are now distributed to both staff and parents.A new music movement program was also created to increase the children’s indoor physical activity.
