St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt - Saturday, March 10, 2012
Join The Suffolk County Farm & Education Center for our Annual Pot o' Gold Hunt! Seeing green yet? You will be after you search for the "gold" at the end of the Farm Rainbow! But look out for leprechauns playing tricks! Includes a wagon ride and bag of animal feed.
$6 per adult or child.
Weekends at the Suffolk County Farm - Starting March 17, 2012
Meet us at our Welcome Center to find out the daily activities! Every weekend offers FREE fun activities for the whole family! Join us for story time in our outdoor Nature Explore Classroom. Get up close and personal with our farm animals create new memories. Activities will be happening on the hour every hour! Each weekend will have a different theme so don't miss out!
Sample Weekend Schedule:
9:00 am - Tour the Butterfly House
10:00 am - Story time in our Nature Explore Classroom
11:00 am - Wagon ride around the farm ($2 a person)
12:00 pm - Join us for a meet and greet with the Cows on the farm
1:00 pm - Wagon ride around the farm ($2 a person)
2:00 pm - Practice milking our model "Cow" Cornelia
Baby Animal Day - May 5, 2012
Visit the farm when spring is in full swing and celebrate our newest arrivals! Bring the whole family for a day of fun, food, crafts and more! Visit with our baby animals, Wagon Rides, Animal Discovery Area, Demonstrations
Farm Tour Tuesdays
Take a wagon ride and learn about all the animals at the farm guided by one of our educators. Meet at the Visitor's Center.
Ice Cream Social
Celebrate the beginning of summer with an Ice Cream Social! Watch a 4-H demonstration, make a sundae, create a craft and visit our animals!
Come for the opening of our Butterfly house.
Take a step back in time at the Suffolk County Farm & Education Center. Attend "class" in a one-room schoolhouse... but don't forget to bring your manners! Churn butter early 1900's style and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Learn an art while you "tinker" with metal and create your own candleholders. Get up close & personal with our farm animals.
Old Fashion Holiday Decorations
Celebrate the holidays by getting classically crafty on The Farm. Decorate a Pine Cone for your tree. Craft a Holiday Pomander to fill your home with the festive smell of orange and cloves. Create a string of Popcorn Garland to deck the halls or trim the tree!
Calling all choco-holics! Join us for a workshop on the farm that the whole family will love! Learn fun facts about this popular confection as you make and sample your own collection of sweet treats! Take your chocolate creations and a collection of easy-to-make recipes home to share with your favorite sweetie.
