Job Location: Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp, Southold, NY

Brief Summary: The Health Director is responsible for planning and carrying out a program of health and safety. She/he supervises all health and sanitation at camp. Responsibilities include maintaining campers' heath records and medicines, administering medicines and treatment to campers according to physicians' orders, and keeping records of all such treatments. She/he also maintains camper's confidential medical history. The Health Director also oversees initial health screening of campers and daily health surveillance of camp occupants. She/he handles health emergencies and injuries, including emergency preparedness and provisions for professional health care. She/he maintains camp's daily medical log and reports required incidents to local health department within 24 hours. These duties are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties will be assigned as required.

Specific Responsibilities: Plan and carry out a program of health and safety. Supervises health and sanitation at camp.

Minimum Qualifications: RN, LPN, or EMT and licensed to practice in New York State. Certified in American Red Cross (or equivalent) Responding to Emergencies and Professional Rescuer CPR.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience or background in camp, school, visiting or public health nursing.

Work Schedule: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Sunday - Friday
