Title of Position: Food Service Manager

Job Location: Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp, Southold, NY

Brief Summary: The Food Service Manager is responsible for supervising all food preparation and service operations.Assist with the selection of cooks and kitchen assistants. Develop weekly menus and meals that are nutritionally complete and reasonably accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions. Procures food and supplies and monitors expenses. Maintain inventory of all kitchen materials and equipment and submit orders for replacement when needed. Schedule and supervise kitchen assistants and cooks. Ensure that food preparation, service and storage comply with NYSDOH regulations.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older to meet the age requirements set for position by the NYS Department of Health. Must a Suffolk County Department of Health Food Managers Certificate valid through August 2017. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. unassisted. 1-2 years previous experience with increasing responsibility in a kitchen.

Preferred Qualifications: One-year culinary school. Two-years of experience catering large-scale events. One-year experience supervising subordinate employees.

Work Schedule: 40+ hours/week

Salary Range: Exempt, $8,000 based on experience and qualifications
