Title of Position: Program Director

Job Location: Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp, Southold, NY

Brief Summary: Coordinate and direct the development and implementation of a specific 4-H camp program (e.g., sports, expressive arts, environmental science, outdoor education). Supervise senior and junior camp counselors in assigned program area. Assist with program scheduling and management.Responsible for one evening program. Assist with program and staff evaluation processes.

Minimum Qualifications: Interest, knowledge, and skills in the specific program area. Ability to teach, supervise and motivate staff. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Emotional maturity, good health, and vitality. Must be at least 18 years old to comply with New York State Department of Health regulations. Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. Ability to meet acceptable background check standards, if required. Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications: College degree in education or other relevant field. Two years of experience supervising others.In-depth knowledge of all activities.

Work Schedule: +40 hours/week Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with a half hour break One day a week 8:30 am – 10 pm with two half hour breaks

Salary Range: Exempt, salary starts at $5,500 based on experience and qualifications
