Cattle at the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center now enjoy a newly-fenced sizeable grazing area. Legislator Jay Schneiderman joined CCE staff and Board members to watch the event. This enables us to use best humane and environmental practices, reduce feed costs and demonstrate rotational grazing to farmers. This project was made possible through the County Capital Budget and with the help of the inmate labor crew, under the supervision of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department, who built the fences. Our thanks to the Suffolk County Legislature and, in particular, to Jay Schneiderman for his interest in the project and also to Ken Phalen of the SCDPW who supervised construction.
