FAQs

Health & Safety: A professional health provider will be on campus 24/7 to dispense medications and tend to emergencies. All staff are trained in CPR, 1st Aid, and Epi Pen Assistance. The camp is inspected twice annually by the Suffolk County Department of Health.
Staff: Our staff of professional educators joins us from CCE and local schools. Four instructors are with us for the entire week keeping ratios under 10:1. All staff are trained in CPR & 1sit Aid.
Accommodations: The Cliff House at Dorothy P Flint has a beautiful view overlooking the LI Sound. It contains a fireplace, living room, and heated accommodations, with private, full bathrooms. Campers must provide their own linens (towels, pillow, sheets and blanket or sleeping bag). For packing info see "Parent-Camper Handbook."
Meals: Meals are plentiful and prepared fresh each day. Campers eat their meals family-style in the Cliff House. Snacks like granola and fresh fruit are available throughout the day.
Drop off: Campers should be dropped off at Dorothy P Flint 4-H Camp at 9am on Monday, April 9th, 2012.
Pick up: Campers should be picked up at Dorothy P Flint 4-H Camp at 8pm on Friday, April 13th, 2012.
NOTE: Parents are encouraged to attend the 'presentations and awards banquet' at 4:00pm on Friday, April 13th, 2012.
What to pack: See "Parent-Camper Handbook"
Laundry: There are no laundry facilities for campers' use. Campers should pack enough clothes for the entire week of camp.

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Campers will use a variety of scientific tools such as microscopes, field guides and sampling equipment to research specific topics in the fields of ecology, environmental science and biology.

Campers will also enjoy activities such as sports, campfires, ropes courses...
and art!!

This isn't an MTV spring break. This is Alternative Spring Break! Opportunities like this don't come around everyday...
