What a glamorous night it was! Gowns and tuxedoes, roses and lilies, strolling musicians, and elegant flower laden candelabras gracing tables and mantles. More than 200 party-goers attended Cornell Cooperative Extension's Second Annual Good Earth Gala on May 2 at the historic Bourne Mansion in Oakdale. Thank you to our wonderful donors and friends whose hard work and generous support once again made this a great success, raising monies for the educational programs of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County.

Honorees, friends and supporters engaged in lively bidding for the more than 115 silent auction items, including: golf foursomes at the Westport Country Club and Great Rock Golf Course; gift certificates for meals at some of Suffolk's most popular restaurants (Tierra Mar, Giorgio's, North Fork, Road House, Riverview, The Frisky Oyster, Baby Moon and Mirabelle); the many packages of donated wines from Long Island wineries (Paumanok, Pugliese, Lenz, Osprey, Vineyard 49 and Raphael); as well as tours of Paumanok, Waters Crest, and Martha Clara vineyards.

Our honorees of the evening-Paul Elliott, Charles and Ursula Massoud, and Michael and Judy White-were presented with CCE's Stewards of the Good Earth Award in recognition of their ongoing efforts to care for, protect, enrich and conserve the Earth's bounty for present and future generations.

Thank you to our chairs-Barry Cohen, Flora Garsten and Carol Ann Hochbrueckner-for their hard work ensuring a successful event and wonderful evening.
