Senior Nutritionist, Long Island Region of NY
The Senior Nutritionist is responsible for providing leadership and a high level of disciplinary knowledge in planning, coordination, and implementation of public education to improve health and wellness among individuals and families and encompassing all age groups throughout long Island in Community Education and issues for the public, in areas of Nutrition, Health, and Wellness.Represents Cornell Cooperative Extension Association before the public, community leaders, government officials, and Cornell University.This position also helps develop and implement social marketing and environmental change initiatives in collaboration with other nutritionists in the Long Island region.
This person is also expected to secure grants and outside funding to support the Program's educational priorities under the direction of the supervisor for the Long Island Region Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-Ed), Nutrition Education, and Obesity Prevention.The SNAP-Ed program is grant-funded through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Federal Food and Nutrition Services (FNS). Reports and receives supervision and guidance from the Community Education Sr. Issue Leader, Program Advisory Committee, and Board of Directors.May supervise or coordinate the activities of other professionals and clerical staff within the Program.

POSITION DETAILS:
Salary: $60,000.00 - $62,000.00 annually
Schedule: Exempt (40+ hours per week)
