DEEP SEA WEEK

Let’s explore our deep sea! Your child will enjoy learning about different marine ecosystems in our ocean's depths. We will also enjoy a visit from the CSH Whaling Museum. Our younger cohort will learn about the fascinating lives of 19th century whalers and the importance of whaling in American history, especially on Long Island. Students learn the how, why, and when of whale hunting, touch authentic nautical artifacts used on whaling ships, and understand the need for whale conservation today. The older cohort will explore whaling on LI and beyond. These campers will deepen their perspective of how the whaling industry shaped communities, while inspiring the globe's first environmental movement.
