Sea Explorers Marine Camp is back at the Sport Fishing Education Center, Babylon for Summer 2018!

Shark Weeks

Ages 7 - 12

Session 1: 2019 dates (Atlantis Trip 2019 dates)

Session 6: 2019 dates (Atlantis Trip 2019 dates)

Join us for an adventurous week exploring Long Island's marine habitats with a focus on SHARKS!!! Our marine instructors will guide your child through interactive, hands-on learning experiences designed to be educational and fun. Campers will also discover the other amazing creatures living in our local oceans, bays, and salt marshes as they handle marine animals in our touch tanks, participate in beach activities and games, seine in our salt marsh, and make fun marine and shark crafts. On Thursdays (2019 dates and 2019 dates), we will set out on a field expedition to see some live sharks at the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium in Riverhead. Your child will have the opportunity to go on a behind the scenes tour designed to enhance your child's sharktacular experience and get to see sharks and their cousins, Rays and Skates up close and personal! We will leave from and return to the Sport Fishing Education Center, Babylon and Sea Explorers Marine Camp will provide the busing to and from Atlantis Marine World. For this one day, camp will run from 9-3pm to allow for a little extra time at the Aquarium. Our 9-12 year old campers will get the option to do a Shark Dissection at camp.

Runs Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm, at Sport Fishing Education Center in BABYLON.

Jr. Sea Explorers Weeks

Ages 6-8

Session 5: 2019 dates (Yankee III trip 2019 dates, pick up and drop off at Captree State Park) 

Join us for an adventurous week exploring Long Island's marine habitats!!! Our marine instructors will guide your child through interactive, hands-on learning experiences designed to be educational and fun. Campers will also discover the other amazing creatures living in our local oceans, bays, and salt marshes as they handle marine animals in our touch tanks, participate in beach activities and games, seine in our salt marsh, and make fun marine and marine themed crafts. Fridays (2019 dates and 2019 dates) will be our Marine Biology and Fishing Expedition aboard the Yankee III out of Captree State Park! Campers will meet at Captree State Park for drop-off and Pick-up that day only.

Marine Mammal Week

Ages 8-12

Session 7: 2019 dates (Atlantis Trip 2019 dates)

Whales, Seals, and Dolphins... Oh My! Join us for an adventurous week exploring Long Island's marine habitats while concentrating on Marine Mammals! Our marine instructors will guide your child through interactive, hands-on learning experiences designed to be educational and fun. Each day will consist of a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. We have classroom time for educational programs/marine topic of the day in the morning, touch tanks, and arts & crafts projects in the afternoon. Campers also study animals and seine in our salt marsh, as well as participate in beach activities at the Town of Babylon's Cedar Beach, a certified, lifeguard-supervised beach area. On Thursday (8/16/2018), we will set out on a field expedition to see some live marine mammals at the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium in Riverhead. Your child will have the opportunity to go on a behind the scenes tour of the Riverhead Foundation designed to enhance your child's Marine Mammal experience and get to see seals, sea lions and river otters up close and personal! We will leave from and return to the Sport Fishing Education Center, Babylon and Sea Explorers Marine Camp will provide the bussing to and from Atlantis Marine World. For this one day, camp will run from 9-3pm to allow for a little extra time at the Aquarium.

Online Registration will begin February 2019. Email notification will be provided to those on our mailing list prior to school distribution!

FEES

  • Session 1 (4 day) Shark Week, 7 - 12 years old; $300
  • Session 2 & 3 (5 day) Jr. Sea Explorers, 6 - 8 years old; $300
  • Session 4 & 5 (5 day) Sea Explorers, 9 - 12 years old; $320
  • Session 6 (5 day) Shark Week, 7 - 12 years old; $350 
  • Session 7 (5 day) Marine Mammal Week, 8 - 12 years old; $350 

PLEASE NOTE: Sea Explorers Marine Camp Registration is ONLY accepted online
and only with VISA or MC.
