2020 Veterinary Medicine Career Exploration Program

The program is now for 9th through 12th grade (was previously open to 10th through 12th).

This is NOT a hands-on program. This program includes:

  • Veterinarian Shadowing Experience
  • Tour of Cornell Cooperative Extension Suffolk County Farm and Education Center: February 29 or March 8, 2020
  • Lecture Series on Thurs evenings 7:00-8:45pm at The Yaphank Building

Lecture topic examples:

  • Veterinary Colleges and Admissions Information
  • Large animal & mixed animal practices
  • Poultry & Production medicine
  • Small & companion animal medicine
  • Zoo medicine & exotics
  • Specializations in: Radiology, Lab Animal Medicine, Emergency Critical Care, Animal Behavior

Student receives Certificate of Completion if requirements are fulfilled. Program graduates eligible for LIVMA Veterinary School Scholarship.

Pre-registration is required.

Registration for the program opens October 7th, 2019.

Fee

$100 - Parents welcome to attend at no additional fee.
