Course Description:
This course is designed to supplement study for landscape professionals interested in becoming a Certified Nursery Landscape Professional (CNLP), ISA Certified Arborist, or for landscape professionals new to the industry. Select topics from the CNLP Training Manual and ISA Study Guide will be reviewed in addition to other topics.
Folks new to horticulture, landscape management, and nursery production are welcome and encouraged to participate even without intention of becoming a CNLP or ISA Arborist.
The CNLP exam is scheduled for March 18, 2027. You need to apply through the PlantNYS website to take the exam. Visit the “CNLP Program” webpage at https://www.plantnys.org/cnlp-program to learn more. There is a separate fee for the exam which is administered by PlantNYS.
For ISA Arborist certification, visit the New York State Arborists Association for more information at https://nysarborists.com/education/certification.... The regional exam is sponsored by the Long Island Arboricultural Association and is scheduled for Tuesday, March 9, 2027. Contact info@longislandarborists.org for more information.
Location:
Most sessions are hybrid via Zoom. In-person locations for sessions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 will be at the CCE-Suffolk Education Center at 423 Griffing Ave., Riverhead, NY 11901. Session 5 is in person only at Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Participants will receive recordings of the hybrid sessions and can view the recordings through the end of the year.
If you are not feeling well, please attend the hybrid session or stay home.
Fees:
Entire course: $240. This includes the hybrid sessions and session 5.
Hybrid sessions can be individually purchased at $45 each or $175 for a packaged discount.
Session 5 is $65 per person and includes some morning refreshments and a pizza/salad lunch.
