Do you love animals and want to learn what it’s really like to work with livestock? Learning Livestock is a hands-on program designed for youth in grades 6–9 with limited livestock experience who are interested in building their knowledge, skills, and confidence around farm animals.
Over five sessions, participants will work directly with a variety of livestock, including poultry, goats, sheep, pigs, cattle, llamas, and horses. Each session will focus on animal behavior, nutrition, health, husbandry, grooming, and safe handling techniques.
This program is a great introduction for youth interested in 4-H, agriculture, working with animals, or exploring future animal-related careers. No previous livestock experience is required!
Come ready to get hands-on, learn new skills, and discover what it takes to work with livestock!
