The "Shellstar" barge is the vessel used for the Scallop Project out of SCMELC in Southold.
Our Southern Skimmer is kept at SCMELC but used for projects throughout Suffolk County.
Fleet and Facilities
CCE Suffolk County's Headquarters are located in Riverhead, NY and house many offices of our Marine Program staff. We also have satellite locations in Southold, NY including the Suffolk County Marine Environmental Learning Center and the Peconic Dunes 4-H Camp. In Western Suffolk County, we have the Cranberry Hill Environmental Center at Fuchs Pond Preserve in Northport as well as the Gold Star facility in Huntington. On the South Shore, we have locations at the Sport Fishing Education Center (Cedar Beach Marina) in Babylon and at Southampton Town's Tiana Bayside Facility in Hampton Bays.
