2024 marked the 48th annual fair, celebrating the proud agricultural heritage of Riverhead town. This family event has been attended by over 30,000 people each year with music, crafts, food, vendors, and special news section highlighting Long Island's marine communities and heritage - MARINER'S MARKET! Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County's Marine Program will operate this new area of the fair which is dedicated to all things marine related - educational tables, lots of local seafood to sample, nautical arts and crafts, fishing gear and supplies, boats, and so much more!
Mariner's Market also features big ticket raffle packages, food and skill competitions (Chowder, anyone?), and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. The fair is run entirely by volunteers and all proceeds from raffle ticket sales, vendor fees and sponsorships will benefit the beautification and betterment of Riverhead town and CCE's marine program. CCE is looking for vendors and sponsors to help make Mariners market an amazing community event. If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor, or would like to have a booth at the event, contact Kristin Gerbino.
Sponsoring the Mariner's Market ensures that your contributions directly support hosting this vibrant event, promotes Long Island seafood, and advances the critical work of the CCE Marine fisheries team. Sponsor funds will be utilized to organize and market the event, highlighting the richness of local seafood and Long Island businesses. Additionally your support will bolster conservation and fisheries research efforts, helping to sustain and protect marine ecosystems. This investment not only enhances community engagement but also plays a vital role in preserving the future of long islands marine resources.
