Today’s focus is on Suffolk County Legislator Jason A. Richberg. Richberg has been working in the government since 2010 and was sworn in as legislator in 2020. He consistently works with the community to provide growth and education in how to make it a better place. He’s the creator of Gregory’s Youth Leadership Caucus, a mentorship program for young adult volunteers on local service projects. He’s also created the Page Program within the legislature’s internship program and has promoted accessibility within the government to provide the community with easily accessible resources.

Our Executive Director Vanessa Pino Lockel works with Richberg as a member of the Suffolk County Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Task Force. The group works with healthcare experts, educators, and community members throughout the county to discuss the maternal morbidity and mortality rates of women of color in the community, how it compares to other regions, and what can be done to reduce it.

We thank Legislator Richberg for all of the hard work he continues to do in addressing the issues within our community. We look forward to future collaborations with him in continuing to make Suffolk County a great place to live.
