Is your teenager interested in marine science and working with younger children? This program is designed to give them a week-long summer experience where they discover both areas! Our CIT program will afford your child the chance to participate in our camp while assisting counselors in working with younger campers as they do marine related crafts, marine science lessons, activities, seining, work with live marine creatures, and games. CITs will also help counselors prepare activities & games, learn how to supervise younger campers, be involved in lesson planning, and help in the 'behind the scenes' daily activities of camp operation (including animal care/feeding and tank maintenance). Participation hours in this program can count towards community service hours for programs such as National Honor Society, graduation requirements, etc.
Included in this registration will be 2 training days in a late week of June 2021. Each day will be 3 hours and this will be mandatory for all staff and participants in the CIT Program sessions. Each CIT candidate registered will need to meet the camp director, Tracy Marcus prior to the summer and interview with the camp director for acceptance into the program. No fees will be charged until candidates have been accepted into the program. It is highly recommended that the interested CIT contact the camp director him/herself, and before registering online.
