Preserving Plum Island

In recognition of Earth Month, this #StakeholderSaturday we highlight “Preserving Plum Island”. Plum Island is an 822 acre landscape about 1.5 miles off the Eastern tip of Orient Point. It is home to 220 bird species, sea turtles, marine eelgrass beds, and rich fish populations.

There is mission between Envision Plum Island, government officials and non-profit organizations that come together to protect and preserve struggling habitats, polluted waters, endangered wildlife, and a threatened environment. It is our collective mission to transform our natural elements into vibrant, sustainable communities.

The work to conserve the land is protecting our climate, air and water quality for all.
