School Gardens

undefinedApril is #EarthMonth here at #CCESuffolk! Learn about how we can take care of the environment all month long.

Want to get your kids involved in the outdoor experience? Consider starting a garden at their school! School gardens have proven to be successful for children of all ages to learn how to take care of the environment. They help them learn how to be responsible for their plants and what type of nutritious foods they can grow, and they create team bonding opportunities when they work with their peers. There are several grants and funding opportunities to create a garden in your child’s school district as well as educational programs such as Cornell Garden Based Learning. CCE-Suffolk has helped several school districts create gardens for their students such as Hampton Bays and Quogue, and we’re always ready to make more until every child has had the chance to plant something beautiful.
