Climate Friendly Homes Fund (CFHF) - Administered by The Community Preservation Corporation , the CFHF provides financing for existing, 5-50 unit buildings in New York State with a focus on replacing older and less energy-efficient systems with all-electric, high-performance heating, cooling, and hot water heating systems. Grant awards are up to $25,000 per unit.
CDLI Plus One ADU Program - Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are secondary housing units on a single-family residential lot. ADUs benefit homeowners, renters, and the community by creating more housing options while maintaining the character of single-family residential suburban and rural communities. Grants are available (up to $125,000) for homeowners in Babylon, East Hampton, Shelter Island , and Southampton for accessory dwelling unit construction.The Plus One ADU Program provides a full-service program to support low- and middle-income single-family homeowner occupants who wish to build a new accessory dwelling unit on their property or improve an existing ADU that needs to be brought into compliance with code requirements.Program support includes ADU design, permitting, and construction costs including oversight and closeout.
ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® Benchmarking - The first step to saving your building energy is to benchmark — or measure and compare your building’s energy to similar buildings, past consumption, or a reference performance level. Portfolio Manager is an interactive resource management tool that enables you to benchmark the energy use of any type of building, all in a secure online environment.
Empower+ for 2-4 Family Households - Through EmPower+, both income-eligible owners and renters of one- to four-family homes are eligible for project incentives. For a project to receive core energy efficiency improvements, rental properties must have approval from the landlord/building owner for work to proceed. For two- to four-family properties, if 50% or more of the units are income-eligible for EmPower+ (either low- or moderate-income), then the entire building is considered income-eligible. For two- to four-family rental units, project funding caps are based upon income eligibility and range from between $5,000-10,000 for the initial unit and $2,500-5,000 for each additional income eligible unit.

NYSERDA Affordable Solar and Storage Predevelopment and Technical Assistance - Provides grants up to $200,000 for the implementation and operation of solar and/or energy storage installations benefiting affordable housing and/or community-led solar installations that will offer benefits to low-to-moderate income households. Grant applicants may include multifamily affordable housing providers, community organizations or agencies, and technical service providers (such as in energy, legal, or finance) working in partnership with any of these entities.
NYSERDA Community Heat Pump Systems - Funding opportunities are available to help college campuses, large medical facilities, and residential real estate developers determine if a ground source or geothermal heat pump system is a good option for their current buildings or future projects.
NYSERDA Owner’s Representative Services for Multifamily Buildings (Owner’s Rep) - NYSERDA has selected a list of qualified Owner’s Rep firms to join your multifamily energy efficiency project team. They’re available at no initial cost and can help ensure your project delivers the outcomes that you prioritize. Through the Owner’s Rep program, a project can access as much as $35,000 for the following support services including; Project planning; Competitive bid process; Capital funding guidance and analysis; Communication and relationship management; Construction oversight and cost management; Project close out. NYSERDA On-site Energy Manager - Want to continuously improve your building's energy usage but don’t have the bandwidth? NYSERDA’s On-site Energy Manager (OsEM) program offers a cost share for building owners to hire a full- or part-time energy manager. The energy manager will monitor energy usage and current operations to achieve energy savings. In addition to energy and water efficiency projects, they will also develop a comprehensive energy management plan to be delivered at the end of their minimum one-year engagement.
NYSERDA Small Affordable Multifamily Energy Study - The Small Affordable Multifamily Energy Study (SAMES) for multifamily technical assistance is a no-cost energy audit for eligible low-to-moderate (LMI) multifamily buildings. Eligible projects are 5 units or more under 50,000 square feet. NYSERDA has pre-qualified FlexTech contractors who will complete an energy assessment and a comprehensive report for you. The report identifies low-/ no cost, operational and maintenance, and capital investments that can reduce energy use.
PSEG Multi-Family Program - The Multi-Family Program offers rebates to PSEG Long Island customers who install energy-efficient equipment a multi-family building consisting of five or more units. Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) - The Suffolk County IDA offers tax incentives and access to other financial and critical business resources, provides thought leadership and technical assistance opportunities, and mobilizes local and regional assets. With the help of the IDA, clients are able to expand and renovate current operations and purchase or build new locations. Assistance includes: bond financing, property tax abatements, and sales tax exemptions.
